Def. accused of several counts of either passing counterfeit coin (or offering to pass it) to Hugh Sevier, and also to a slave. One of the issues on appeal was the capacity of a juror known to be subject to attacks of delirium tremens who became sick. The juror was James Hall & the doctor who treated him, Milton Tate, found him "quite sick and in danger of fit of mania."
