George Simmons, the father of the pl George Simmons, died in 1866 possessing a will. His brother William and George Jr were named exes. of the estate but George left most of the work to Wm. William was found to have misappropriated estate moneys by buying stock in the Tanning Company. He also bought land with a mortgage through Shelbyville Savings. George & the bank partnered, suing to recover the misappropriated funds.
