In July 1854 the court directed the chairman of the court to subscribe $50,000 in the railroad's stock by issued bonds. Since that time work has begun on the railroad, but in the April term of the County Court an order was made refusing to issue the bonds unless compelled to do so by law. |

Therefore Pierce was petitioning on behalf of the child to receive Lauren's interest. |
