Morris claimed Napier wrongly seized Morris' 6-7 year old "crumply horned cow". Morris says Napier came to him, said he was going to move away & wanted to sell Morris his cow. At the time, Napier owed Morris money. Morris agreed to buy the cow but keep it where it was. A few weeks later, Napier told Morris he had decided not to move, as Mr. Bayne was going to start up his cement works (so Napier could get work there) & he wanted his cow back. Morris agreed only if Napier paid his debt. This lawsuit ensued. |
