Plaintiff sued defendant for debt due by account under $200.

Additional Plaintiff: Lewis A. Hurt, surviving partner in firm of Abbott & Hurt. Fuqua admr. of J. W. Abbott, dec. Firm of Allen, Bush & West comprised of J. H. Allen, T. H. West & J. C. Bush. Plaintiffs sued to collect $607.29 due them on account.

Additional defendants: C. H. Merils, John N. Loftis.

Plaintiffs, traders in the name of Rankin, Baggs & Co., were awarded a judgment of $223 against defendants in 1841. Present suit brought to force collection on debt, through execution against the estate of Gibbs, security for defendant.

Judgment rendered against Jones in favor of Williams, who then satisfied that judgment by levying on a parcel of corn (14 barrels) belonging to Jones, which corn Jones believed to be exempt from execution because Jones was a head of family.

The exact cause of action in the case is not completely clear although the summons states that Cook is to appear to answer Freeman and Roberts (business partners) in a plea of debt due on account.

Charles and Elizabeth, his mother, were exe. Of will of John Greene, dec. In previous case, judgment had been rendered in favor of Jobe and against plaintiffs for $411.46. Plaintiffs had paid $321.74 and paid balance sometime later. Jobe issued for whole execution at first, then remembered later that $321.74 was paid, but still wanting the rest of the judgment. Plaintiffs seek stay of execution, charging that they had paid balance.

Pltf. sued to recover $175, the value of one Servel Electric Refrigerator, converted to dfnt.'s use. Balltine was from Sardis, MS. Ex. mat: conditional sales contract, notes, letters, etc.

Alteman Bros. claims that Pizitz Smolian Corp Stores owes $453.60 on an account for goods, wares, and merchandise sold and delivered to them.

Incomplete case file. Nature of the debt is unclear.

Bray sued Maxey as administrator for payment of a promissory note executed by the deceased, Adam C. Hamilton. Maxey lost the case and was ordered to pay Bray $135.33 from the estate plus costs of the trial.

John Epps and James Byerly claim that Abraham Starr owes them a debt on an account that is under $200.

Anthony Montgomery brought this suit to collect on an earlier judgment (1847) for the sum of $48.75 debt and damages and $1.25 costs, for total of $50. The plaintiffs death in 1849, resulted in appointment of admr. Hugh M. Montgomery.

Alva Wynne owed Dr. Jos. H. Smith $79.50. Incomplete case file. No other details available.

Bernheim Bros. of Louisville, KY comprised of J. W., B. B., L. S., & M. N. Bernheim. Robertson & Chaney comprised of W. M. Robertson & W. B. Chaney. On 11 Oct. 1902 plaintiffs won judgment of $332 plus court costs against defendants on an open account on merchandise purchased from them. Defendants maintain judgment unjust & receipts show only $82 owed.

Plea of debt on account, $181.72 plus court costs. A question of lost papers of plaintiff forced appeal of decision. Court decision appealed to the Tennessee Supreme Court, Jackson, Tenn.

Cause of action was listed as "debt due by account." This appeared to be a case involving medical bills due to a Dr. Whitcomb for medical services rendered to the wife of James Hutsell.

Buckner & Co. sued for debt on account for a shipment of cloaks that was received but never paid for.
