Additional Defendants: Amelia C. Hollenburg, wife H. G. Hollenberg & H. G. Hollenberg, Trustee. A. Kohlbry & Co. comprised of A. Kohlbry & A. Silverberg. Mrs. Hollenberg purchased $77.75 worth of goods at A. Kohlbry & Co., paying with a note due 1 Jan. 1888. Note still unpaid. She also signed her husband's initials to the note as if they were her own. Exhibit includes Postcard with message concerning case.

Plaintiff company alleged that Decatur, Chesapeake, & New Orleans Railway Company waste construct and equip a railroad from Decatur, AL to Gallatin, TN and executed mortgage from plaintiff company to pay for construction. Plaintiff company alleged that loan was never paid. Additional Plaintiffs: Bethlehem Iron Company, John S. Silver, Trustee. Additional Defendants: A. S. Thomas, Surety, John S. Waddle, William Williams, Decature, Chesapeake, & New Orleans Railway Co.

Additional Plaintiff: Daniel Hillman. Additional Defendants: Florence Drouillard, Vanleer Kirkman, Russell Houston, admr. of Anthony Vanleer, dec. Case involves pig iron seized by Federal Army; seeking compensation for services rendered running Cumberland Iron Works.

Add. defendant: N. Baxter. Moffitt is the administrator of the estate of George W. Moffitt (dec.). Plaintiff is an attorney who represented the defendant in four different trials against the Nashville, Chattanooga, & St. Louis Railway Company for an undisclosed sum of damages for the negligent killing of his brother, the deceased. The plaintiff was never paid for his services and filed this bill to collected $500 plus interest.

Def's drew a promissory note for $350 in Confederate currency in 1861. The value of the note following the war, and the state of the debt following the war were contested by the defendants. Suit sought to properly evaluate the original debt and recover payment. Includes Civil War battle narrative on Page 15.

Additional defendants: James Worthington and P.S. Hutcheson. Bank sued defendants for $700 for an unpaid promissory note.

Bank sued defendants for $2900 for unpaid promissory note.

Issue becomes statute of limitations on payment, since note was acquired post possession by Pltf. Rules that chancery was correct that relations were not established to prevent claim. Cause of Action: Note Payable.

Additional Defendant: J. G. Duke. James Lee owns Lee Gin & Machine Co. Plaintiff charges that he purchased a boring mill from them for $2850 & later claimed that it had a crack in the bottom or bed. Has since refused to make payments, claiming the mill is no longer worth the initial price. Also "made reclamation on your orator for an abatement of the amount of the purchase price."

Cause of action: Wage Dispute

Additional Defendant: Fannie Moyers, wife Gilbert Moyers. Plaintiffs, attorneys in firm of Newton & Hall of Bastrop, LA, maintain that G. Moyers owes them over $6,500 for their services in 1872 & 1873. Case involved governments of United States & Great Britain, and International Court of Arbitration. Known as A. R. McDonald v. The United States of America, consisted of claim against the U. S. government for a million dollars or more.

Additional Defendants: Alice T. Collier, wife W. A. Collier; John T. Dunn, Trustee; Lombard Investment Co. of MO. Plaintiff a carpenter sued defendants to collect payment for work done on their property. Defendants maintain that they had been dissatisfied with his work, and plaintiff continued working in defiance of orders to cease.

Plaintiff sold defendant $500 worth of goods for which he never received payment.

Additional Defendants: J. E. Anderson v. G. K. Underdown.

Additional defendants: John C. Gillispie and Robert P. Jones. McMillen sued Bank unpaid bank notes worth $1187. McMillen shows that Bank is in one suit against Gillispie and another against Jones for drafts. McMillen wants Bank to kept from collecting, transfering, or otherwise disposing of said drafts or their proceeds from Gillispie and Jones and that the same be collected to pay bills of Bank held by McMillen.

The suit was filed to recover a debt of $129.90 from Johnson do to a note. The note was barred due to the statute of limitations of six years, but also bankruptcy proceedings. Documents included are appeal briefs & other writs. Main proceedings appear to be absent.

Elisha M. Sims, a physician, rendered services to defendant and his wife from 1882-1884, with a running bill of $32. Plaintiff brought suit to recover this non-payment of services. Circuit court found for defendant.

Additional Plaintiffs: F. Furman, F. P. McWharter, J. A. Jennings, and Ed Gilean Jr. Additional Defendants: A. S. Edwards, Elizabeth J. Edwards, and John W. Edwards Francis Furman owned Furman & Co. Wholesale Dry Goods store. He died in 1899 and is buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

C. S. and G. T. Britton owe money to Mrs. W. B. Shaffer due to a note they took out. The defendants are ordered to pay Shaffer the $548 she is owed.

Additional Defendants: Thomas Herndon and T. P. Major of the firm Herndon & Major. The plaintiff bank sued for recovery of a debt of $4500 from the defendants on a note the plaintiff bank held.
