Case concerns detaining a 7 year old mare.

Additional Plaintiffs: S.W. Green, Thomas Warren, C.A. Warren, and Samuel Thompson. Plaintiffs are appealing the charge of trespassing.

Collins sued Foshee and several other defendants for trespass and damages of $40,000 for taking and converting to their own use Collins' personal property, including: horses, mules, hogs, bushels of corn, wheat, hay, cattle, sheep, etc. Collins also suing for being maliciously forced out of his house, destroying his farm houses and other property while def'ts occupied them as camping grounds. Suit began in 1865.

Although case was collected with the Eastern Division, it lists a Middle Tennessee County of origin. Case file is incomplete; brief only. Possibly related to case file in MT 442. Also included in ET OV 4 is an oversize account ledger dating 1909-1912.

The plaintiff sued the defendant company for $2,000 in damages for negligently employing the plaintiff's 12-year-old son, Charles Guy, to use said saw without proper training or consent, resulting in the loss of the child's right arm.

Plaintiff alleges the defendants are justly indebted to A. Burgess in the sum of $10,000 as damages for personal injuries inflicted upon the minor by the defendants when they hit the plaintiff on his bicycle in their automobile.

Massengill "has removed himself from the State or so obscures or conceals himself" to avoid paying Shadden $1,000 for trespass. Massengill accused of whipping Shadden w/hickory stick & keeping him from retrieving his mare at Rebel camp. Alexander Shadden said Massengill maliciously beat him w/sticks, forcibly took his blue roan mare, in June 1862. Massengill's mom says Jefferson County prejudiced agnst her son; asks for chg in venue
