Emma Ledbetter received 74.5 acres of land from her father's estate, this she owned before marrying H. Ledbetter. The Ledbetters signed on an agreement to purchase additional land from Cox, acting as a representative of E. Perkins. To purchase this new plot, the Ledbetters mortgaged part of the 74.5 acres to Cox. Per the agreement, the Ledbetters had two years to repay the full amount to the defendants, yet Cox was found selling parcels off the deed before the deadline of repayment. |
