The heirs of Caleb Hewitt believed that they owned part of same land. An agreement between Thomas Dillon and Thomas Shute to survey 21,580 acres of Military land is also enclosed. This came out of Thomas Armstrong office where the Middle District of land was laid out after the Revolutionary War. |

On March 2, 1820 Allen had decided to leave Rutherford County and move to Missouri. His slave Jenny did not want to go as she had a husband at Wrights Mill. She was to visit him and come back but seemed to have drowned herself. Allen felt destitute so decided to take the notes of Thompson in lieu of cash. McCombs was his security. Allen was not bound to deliver the slave and left the country. Thompson never found the slave and he died. McCombs also died before this was settled. |
