Indictment. Cause of Action: Mule Stealing.

Plaintiff was convicted for the murder of his wife, this case file is a motion for a new trial based on the jury selection. Plaintiff alleges that jury was not impartial and requested a new trial.

James Downing was charged and convicted of burning down the house of the M.M. Faught. Faught was an attorney in Obion County.

Henry and Stone were accused of building a dam across the Little River, which backed up and flooded a road and highway.

McTigue asked Swissman David Wilds to visit a saloon on College St in Nashville late one night. They went later to a small house where men were playing cards. They were joined by Mr. Erwin. During their time they realized that McTigue had robbed them of various objects including pocket knives and money.

Plaintiff in error is accused of disturbing worship at a public schoolhouse with laughter, loud talking and other disruptive behavior.

Dyer was accused of attempting to pass counterfeit money in the town where he lived. Daniel Dyer signed as bond on this case. The appeal was scire facias.

Logan Perry, referred to in the case as "colored," was accused of assaulting James Saunders with a pistol, shooting him in the neck and chest. The assault resulted in Saunders' death. Saunders and his cousin hired Perry to pick cotton on their farm. They had a disagreement one day. A witness saw them later that day, Perry telling Saunders that he had to treat him better. Saunders told him to go, and Perry pulled the gun. Saunders chased him with a timber, Perry shot him. Died six days later.

Williams was indicted for "malicious stabbing" on Aug 27, 1873, and was scheduled to appear for trial on Dec. 23, 1873. Defendant's father M.M. Williams posted a security bond promising to deliver defendant for his trial. Defendant did not appear for his trial. State sought payment on the security bond of $1000 for failure of defendant to appear at his trial. M.M. Williams claimed he delivered his son to the sheriff who allowed the defendant to escape. James Coe was the victim.

Defendants are accused of stealing a mare worth $100 and a bridle worth $3 from P. F. Whitwell.
