Prior to that time, Thomas Batey was his guardian (1868-1881) and collected rents on his behalf. Upon a court ordered settlement of the trust, Batey owed the minor Edwards $about $2000, but was insolvent. His new guardian sued Batey and his securities to recover the debt. |
