Plaintiff, a former railroad employee, was run over by a hand-car and seriously injured on 25 July 1888. Injuries have left him permanently disabled. Plaintiff charges railroad with negligence and is sued for $25,000 in damages.

Damages to horses for not watering, feeding, resting and unloading them at proper times causing them to become hurt by the conditions. Additional plaintiffs: R. L. James. Additional defendants: St. Louis Southwestern Railway Co.

Damages for $5,000.00

B.A. Williams is sued Welch and the Chero Cola Bottling Company for $1500.00 damages for injuries he suffered when Welch, driving a motor car for the Chero Cola Company, recklessly and negligently drove the car with great force against and upon the plaintiff and the horse he was riding. The impact of the collision hurled the plaintiff over a fence and prostrate, to the ground- rendering him unconscious until the next day.

The two cases were tried together -- they concern a suit by Becky Mason, Willie Flowers, Freddie Flowers, and Lerion Flowers for damages from a house fire, which they say was started by sparks from a passing train.

This case was heard in Humboldt, TN which is in two counties Gibson and Madison. C. L. Love owes W. B. Seward $250.

Clain Adcock, 16, was waiting in a public crossing for a through train to pass when a train on the siding backed up into him without signaling and injured his feet so badly that both had to be amputated. A. Adcock is his father. The principal argument for the plaintiff seems to be that that crossing had been used for many years and that the train crew should have looked to see whether anyone was on the track before moving.

Plaintiff is the administrator of the estate of Luther Kelley (dec.) and is sued for damages in the sum of $10,000 for a wrongful death. The deceased was riding his horse along a road and saw the defendant coming towards him in his automobile. The deceased went to one half of the road to let the defendant pass, but the defendant remained in the middle of the road, willfully and negligently hitting L. Kelley, making his horse fall on him and causing fatal injuries.

While waiting on a siding for a train to pass, plaintiff was hit by a train backing onto the siding and injured so badly he had to have his feet amputated. He claims there was no one on the back of the train to watch for people or obstacles, and no warning whistle, and that the noise of the passing train blocked the sound of the train on the siding.

damages to recover loss of a horse alleged to have been injured by the negligent acts of plaintiff resulting in the death of the horse.

Addtl dfnts: A. H. Phelan and W. B. Burkett (sureties). Phelan and Burkett signed a note of $100 to Cope, but have not paid said note.

The plaintiff was employed as a cook for Gibson County to feed prisoners. He accused the county of not paying him in full.

Actual charge is debt under $500.
