Josiah Barnes possessed a grant that was older than the one Jonathan Greaves held for the same plot of 3,000 acres of land, near the current location of Henry Horton State Park. This suit sought to confirm the true owner of the property as well as the boundaries of the land. |

In 1808 Hooker sold Phillips 599 acres of land. However upon close inspection the land was found to have a different amount of water available than previously expected. In order to make an exception for this discovery, Phillips requested to pay less. The suit sought to settle the disagreement over the land sale. |
