Carson refused to give him a certificate of exemption from the rebel army and caused Hartman to be arrested and imprisoned for 5-6 months. Hartman was also compelled to stay from his home for 2 years after his escape from the rebel army and prison. Court ruled in favor of plaintiff for $550. |
